Dear Mother, Daddy & Grandma,

"It hardly seems possible that next Thurs. is Thanksgiving.  We haven't decided whether we'll have our dinner alone or invite someone in.  We have talked about getting a capon or a small turkey but may end up with pork chops.

Our trip to Chicago depends upon how we all feel.  Bobby and B both have colds and feel pretty draggy now but so far, I haven't got it.  Lynn had a cold and Toni didn't tell me so we went over and then I could tell Lynn had one.  Of course, Bobby took it after playing with the toys.

Bernadine stopped at the University to see us on Monday.  She and some other women were on their way to Milwaukee to a girl scout meeting and were going through Normal.  She found B at school and then called me so Bobby and I went to school real quick to see her.  She just had 15 minutes so we talked pretty fast.  Ray was at home with the kids.  He had a few days off and said it was too good a trip for her to miss since all expenses were paid.

Thelma Craddock came to see us one night too--the night we had our party so I couldn't ask her in but explained why and invited her back.  We talked quite awhile anyway and her reason for coming was to ask for rides home.  She said it was so hard to get home and she never had more than three days so it would save so much time if she could ride with us.

I have bought the dishes but will not get them till after Thanksgiving.  I went to another store (where we went upstairs) and inquired about them.  They (Sorgs) have another store in Indiana and telephoned there for the pieces I wanted.  I will get them next week probably.  The total bill, including tax, will be 94.40 I think.  The extra money wouldn't buy the gravy boat so I'll look at lace cloths but I don't know whether it will buy that or not.  If not, I'll look at the crystal.  Maybe I can find a piece of that for you, but won't be in any hurry about it so if you want me to get a certain piece let me know.  My reason for going to another store about the china was that I felt the dessert plates would be far more practical than bread & butters and there wasn't much difference in the price.  I'm sure you'd agree with me if you could see the dishes again.

Toni expects the baby in Jan. or Feb.  She looks and feels fine but has that RH factor to worry about.  The doctor is watching her closely though (she goes to him every two weeks) and she is fine.

Last night was the Faculty Women's Dinner and I was on the committee so yesterday was busy.  Rosemary came to stay with Bobby in the afternoon while I went to the church to fix tables.  We had loads of mums so each of us brought home a bunch.  B was home to put Bobby to bed.  Bobby loves Rosemary but doesn't like us to leave him so we usually get him to sleep before we leave.  If we are gone when he wakes he is all right.  Rosemary is such a nice girl.  She does anything I ask her to do.  Yesterday she ironed and rolled out some pie crusts while Bobby slept.

I must stop and go to bed.  I hope you all three are fine and will have a real nice Thanksgiving.

            Lots & lots of love,

Happy Birthday, Charlotte!

Tell Charlotte I have not forgotten her birthday.  I'm just slow."
