November 4 and 11, 1950 Ann Is Cross and Wiggly, Bobby Tries to Jump, and Bonnie Gets Out of the House

Dear Mother & Daddy,

"Winter has come.  We have had August weather till yesterday and bang! it got really cold.  It made me start thinking about snowsuits.  Both babies will have to have one.

The colds are all gone but Ann has had an upset stomach so has been cross the last two days.  She is so wiggly that we had to put up the big crib for her.  She banged her head so much in the other one.  We moved the white chest out of our room and into Bobby's room and put her crib there.  When she begins to sleep all night without waking we may move her in with Bobby.

We have been shopping for some new bedroom furniture.  Prices sure scare you.  We plan to get that for our Christmas this year.  We wanted something like our dining room furniture but nothing is shown in that mahogany that we like.

B took Bobby to see his first movie today.  He stayed through the whole thing and it was an adult picture, too.

I'd like to have a bunch of your mums.  I always loved them.  There is to be a mum show at the greenhouse at school on Sunday.  I'd like to go.

B's Dad and his dogs
We haven't heard from Mabel and Horace.  You probably know that B's Dad is at Mayo's so they may not come.

Our hat class is progressing a little more.  We just about have the pieces together for our first hat.

Do you remember Peggy that came to play with Alan and Bobby at the sandbox?  She has been coming here to play and Bobby told me the other day that she jumped off the radio and he tried.

I just finished a pumpkin pie.  Come over and we'll have a piece.  Eve gave us some the other day and it made us hungry for it."

                Lots of love,

                        Bonnie

November 11, 1950

Dear Mother & Daddy,

"Your letter hasn't come yet this week and I hope you are both all right.  It usually comes on Friday.

It is really cold and wintry now.  It snowed all day but melted as fast as it fell and the sun was shining part of the time.  Bobby was so thrilled when he saw snow this morning.  He has another cold but it isn't as bad as the last one.  The Dr. seemed to think it is a flare-up of the other one that he hadn't quite gotten rid of.   Ann is still all right and I sure hope she doesn't take another cold.  She is eating applesauce now and seems to like it.  I have an appointment with the Dr. for her exam next Saturday and am anxious to see how much she has grown.

Since Bobby has the cold we haven't been out much.  I went to the Women's Faculty Dinner last night and had a nice time.

We still haven't ordered our bedroom suite but have shopped a lot and have narrowed our choices down to three.  Two are bleached maple and one is the color of our dining room furniture.

The hat class still doesn't amount to anything.  At least, I get out of the house and that helps when I have to be in so much.

I hope you are both fine."

               Lots of love,

                     Bonnie
