"It is so nice and quiet in the house that I thought I'd start my letter. Everyone is gone but Bobby and me and we're waiting for B to come home so we can go do a little shopping. It's just wonderful to have the house to ourselves. We certainly hope we can get a house in Normal.
Bobby is lying on the floor kicking one leg. He's so funny the way he kicks the left leg. Helen Pearcy sent him a comb and brush this week. It's awfully nice but it will be sometime before he uses them. He wore his shoes that you sent Xmas last Sunday for the first time. We put the blue suit on him which Rollins gave him and went to see them awhile.
It seems strange for you to talk about having gardens out. People here are just beginning to plow. It still frosts most every night.
No, I haven't tried Betty Crocker's recipe but I've been wanting to and have three of her recipes saved. We sure enjoyed the candy you sent B. We really waded into it.
No, Bobby doesn't need a sweater. I don't know of anything he does need now but he grows so fast that there seems to be always something to get when I go to town. The last little shirt I bought was for a year old and it fits snug. Everyone talks about his being so big. He is awfully long but not real fat like others' babies.
There is a place in Bobby's baby book for the family tree. If you don't know, would you ask Grandma where she & Grandpa were born and their mother's & father's names and birth places? B's folks sent B a family record book for his birthday and we're so proud of it. I don't think I ever saw one before.
Daddy, you're left-handed, aren't you? We were wondering about Bobby and trying to think of the left-handedness in the family.

And on her mother’s side |
Lots of love,
B, Bonnie & Baby
