Dear Mother & Daddy,
B's glasses came yesterday and they are just fine so now he really has to get to work. They sent the lens that was ground wrong in the first place back to us and B says there really is a difference. He has been reading a lot of camera books and I've been reading some fiction that he thinks are mighty silly--Faith Baldwin's.
I think I told you Sears sent me some awful material in place of my blouse material so I sent it back. I haven't heard from them about it. I'll take another look for your dress material. They may get some in later. Fall clothes are being shown now, but as yet there aren't any on the street. If the cool weather lasts long there will probably be lots of fall clothes worn soon.
Dave Rosenbaum was here for a while last night. He asked us to eat out with him and his girl tonight and then go to a show but we've been expecting Sully and he called after Dave left and said he'd be here this evening so I guess we'll stay at home. I spent all morning cooking. Sully always brags about my cooking so like any fool woman I always feed him up. Ha!
Our ice box works just fine and so far we haven't let the pan run over.
I should have told you that I hadn't mailed the stuff to Beulah when I wrote. She will probably have it by now as we mailed it Wednesday. I got around to writing to her too. Is Grandma all right? When you see her or talk to her tell her I'll write some of these days.
I've been crocheting a little bit on my table cloth but haven't touched my lunch cloth since I got home. Maybe I can finish it next summer.
Your family is certainly increasing suddenly. Does that make three new calves? Mary Lou wrote that her old cat had some new kittens. Can your old cat beat that, Daddy?
The baptizing must have been nice. I would like to have been there but you didn't say which creek.
Daddy, I wish I could be home and make you a big cake and a big pan of ice cream Sunday. I hope you have a nice birthday and I'll send you a package next week. Take care of yourselves and write soon."
Lots & lots & lots of love,
B & Bonnie
