March 24, 1951 Blowing Hard, Dyeing Eggs, Returning the Dress and Trailing Another Rental

Dear Mother, Daddy and Grandma,

"The wind is blowing hard and it's cold tonight although today was pretty nice.  B and Bobby did a lot of running around shopping for groceries and things.  Today is the first day of Easter vacation.  We all dyed eggs this afternoon and Bobby won't let us eat a one.  It was fun and is the first time in years that I've done it.

Bobby has a cold--not too bad a one but I am hoping the rest of us escape.  Ann has been cross as a bear all week but has two new teeth and when another one gets through she'll be all right for a while.  She has been so wakeful at night.  Actually she is half asleep but her gums hurt so they wake her and make her cry.

I sent my nylon dress back.  It was pretty but a little long waisted and would have to be dry cleaned since the pleats were so fine.  It was a beautiful light pink but would soil so easily and it costs 3.00 to have a pleated dress cleaned.  I ordered one from Sears but it hasn't come.

We don't plan much for vacation except get some extra rest.  We want to go to Peoria one day if the kids don't get sick with colds.

We are on the trail of another place to rent but don't know whether anything will come of it.  There just isn't anything to buy that we would have.  I'd rather rent than to buy just anything and maybe sometime we can build.  Rent control has been extended for three months now.  That will help.

There isn't much news.  I may give Eve a permanent tomorrow night.  She is doing pretty good--is taking shots which are helping a lot.

Hope you are all fine."

                   Lots of love,

                           Bonnie
