"I'm sorry you are sick, Mother. Did you get Mrs. Miller to help clean house or were you trying to do it? You had better forget the house for a while and take it easy.
I haven't done anything this morning. B got up and fed Bobby and I stayed in bed. It was pretty nice. Bobby has finally cut the other tooth and he was a changed baby yesterday. He was like himself again and good as gold. You should hear him talk. He makes such funny movements with his mouth. The last few days he's been saying bob, bob, bob and we got him to say Bobby yesterday but couldn't get him to say it again. He has been "buzzing" a lot too. Sometimes it tickles his lips and then he shakes his head and rubs his face like everything. Right now he is playing in the playpen and talking.
Penny is doing pretty well. She has never cried all night but really can let me know when she wants out. We keep her in the basement but hope to housebreak her so she can play in the house. We keep her in a big box so she has lots of room. She causes lots of extra running and still smells doggy after a bath even, but she's awfully pretty. Bobby loves her and so does Lynn (the baby next door).
Maxine gave her baby a real pretty name but I can't feature Maxine with a baby girl. She may be a wonderful mother, though.
We are invited to sponsor a hayride next Saturday night so we went downtown yesterday and bought me some slacks to wear. The Larsens (where B stayed) are having a tea for us next Sunday afternoon so I want to get my new dress made if I can. My machine came Wednesday. It sure is a beauty and sews so easily. The head is finished in brown like yours but is all enclosed. I have already made Bobby some overalls and have a robe cut out for B.
We take Bobby back for his second shot today. I guess he'll be cranky for another week but might not. Lynn's second one didn't affect her like the first one.
This is a real fall day. I'd like to go for a long ride.
I had a nice letter from Aggie this week. Nothing seems to have changed as Carol is still tearing the house down.
Hope you're both feeling better."
Lots of love,
B, Bonnie & Bobby
