July 9, 1964 Filzmoos, Austria

Journal entries, always in italics.

Coffee stop near Zeller See.  Old horse and barn.  Could see cattle through the windows, feeding on green hay.  Ann played the harp.  Hotel Wurzer, Filzmoos i/Pongau.

NOTE:  I didn't want to leave Filzmoos.  Everything about it seemed magical--deep featherbeds, the hollow clinking sound of the cow bells, opening the shutters in the morning to watch the sun come up over the mountains, kind & friendly people and a quieter pace & serenity I had yet to experience on this particular trip.

Tomorrow, Innsbruck.

  1. Austria is one of my favourite countries. Karin and I have been many times walking in the Alps and enjoying the magnificent views. Lovely photos, thanks for the memories re-kindled.

  2. There are so many beautiful places in the world, but there was just something about the sights and sounds in Austria. You must take another trip there soon and share some photos!

    Thanks for writing!
