July 23, 1955 Home from the Lake, The Roy Rogers Watch and Visiting the Daddies

Dear Mother & Daddy,

"We just came home from the lake.  We took our supper out there just by ourselves.  Toni and her kids have gone to Chicago for a few days.  Ann gets lonesome but has a little girl to play with next door.  There is a 10 yr. old girl too and Bob likes her a lot.  The four of them had fun yesterday afternoon.  Then we had them eat supper with us.

Bob has a new Roy Rogers watch.  He picked it out of the catalog and ordered it with his own money.  He is so proud of it and is really pleased when anyone asks him the time.  He can tell it right.

It has been terribly hot.  Our window fan helps a lot and the nights get cool.

Bob's class has been visiting their Daddy's at work.  So they went to one of B's classes today.  Several Daddies are teachers but one of them is a fireman and one owns a trailer sales place.  The children have visited both places.  There are several new children this summer that I don't know.

I had plenty of material for Ann's dress.  It is real pretty.  She doesn't wear dresses much now.  It is usually shorts.

There isn't any news so I'll just say good-night."

                 Lots of love,

                         Bonnie
