January 1, 1954 The New Year Begins

Diary Entry:  Jan. 1, 1954

"A quiet uneventful day.  Teruko-san off for 3 days to celebrate. Japanese children came to play, all dressed up.  B took pictures of them.  They brought Bob some cookies.


Students came in kimono to wish us Happy New Year but B in Osaka taking pictures.

  1. Happiest New Year's wishes, sweet friend! It's hard to believe, isn't it, that January is here once again? I love the images and ephemera you selected to kick off the start of 2013 (the little girl's kimono in the street photography scene is so vivid and beautiful!).
