December 5 - 8, 1953 Preparing for Christmas, Making Cookies and Having Colds

Diary Entry:  Dec. 5, 1953

"Bob quite sick, fever high.  Started sulfa.  Started another batch of fondant but came out taffy.  Gardener came & raked a few leaves then mowed the lawn.  B said he must be getting ready for Xmas.  Made a delicious batch of divinity after supper." 

Diary Entry:  Dec. 6, 1953

"Spent morning making cookies.  B went to football game in afternoon.  We were invited to Teele's to meet Jane's sister but Ann is taking the cold so I stayed at home.  At game peanuts, dried squid & pop sold."
  

Diary Entry:  Dec. 7, 1953

"Quiet day.  Bob and Ann have such bad colds.  Made chocolate pie this afternoon.  Teruko-san finished cutting my suit."
 

Diary Entry:  Dec. 8, 1953

"Spent day entertaining Ann.  Such a cold.  Have made so many paper chains."
